It warms my heart……

Many of you know that this year we have cut back the business because my son Ryan has NF. He has tumors on his central nervous system. He lost his eye to a tumor at 10. He has ADHD, dyslexia, and had a port installed in May to undergo chemo for brain tumors that have grown. We recently found out that he has scoliosis and will be having an MRI on Friday determine a treatment plan to alleviate his back pain.  All due to NF.

Every year we walk and support the Children’s Tumor foundation in the Denver NF Walk to raise funds for research of NF. This year we have stepped up our efforts, not only because of Ryan’s worsening condition, but because of the friends we have made that also have NF and their stories. Stories like that of Presli, who has had her struggles and triumphs this year.  And of Bailey and her family, who continue to struggle and provide a source of inspiration to others with NF.

I recently posted on Facebook asking for donations for Ryan’s team and it has truly warmed my heart to see the outpouring of donations and care for our family!  Not only from those that we know well, but from those we have recently met. Over $1,000 in donations in TWO days!

Thank you, thank you, thank you, from the bottom of my heart!  And I know Presli and her family, and Bailey and her family, also thank you as well. Every dollar we raise gets us that much closer, if not to a cure, then to treatments for the disease.

We will all be there Sunday at the Denver NF walk. If you would still like to donate, or even join us on the walk, you can donate to Ryan’s Team here or Presli’s  Team here. Although $1,000 in two days is beyond what I had hoped, my goal for our team was $2500.00. We still have three days left!

Finally, because I can never write a post without a photo. I felt this one was appropriate for my heartfelt thanks. This is Becca, a good friend of mine’s daughter and a beautiful dancer.  Although Becca does not have NF, she endured her own struggles today having to undergo hip surgery. She is doing well. We are all thinking and praying for her speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing her dance again very soon. We love you Becca ! You are so beautiful! Hope you feel better and are dancing again soon!
