Yep, they were ranked 10th in the State. Not much of a chance to be the top dog. But, game by miraculous game they kept winning. And winning. Until now they are assured of #2 at the very least. And I for one am totally and absolutely rooting for #1 for many reasons. So here are my top five reasons why I want LHS to prevail in the State Championship Game this weekend.
#1 – Because #3 Dylan Nelson is the QB and Michelle Kroll Photography did his senior pictures!
#2 – Because Dylan is an all around nice guy and a great athlete from an amazing family (okay, maybe that is more than one reason).
#3 – Because yours truly went to Lakewood High School and the last State Championship Game that I attended I was on the field….as a Cheerleader for LHS.
#4- Because the reason I know Dylan is because of his mom who also went to LHS and was also a Cheerleader.
#5- Because the last time LHS was in a State Championship game was in 1985…they’ve waited long enough. …it is their time to shine!
So, Come on Big Orange Let’s Go (insert, clap, clap…clap, clap, clap. here)! Yes, one of our cheers from the 80’s. Once a cheerleader always a cheerleader.
I’m hoping to be able to go to the game this weekend and see some old friends. If anyone out there in blog readership land wants to go and get tickets you can get them here. GOOOOOOOOOOOOO TIGERS!!!!!!!!!!
