Here it is......Our Announcement!

My wildly creative and talented friend Tanja at Contemporary Expressions thought that since we were both photographers that photos would be the best way to tell our story of our "big announcement" and I couldn't have agreed more. What's more, we had so much fun taking these photos with the lots of laughter that defines so much of our relationship. Have you ever tried to make angry faces for the 10 seconds it takes for the camera self timer to go off without laughing? Ten seconds is a long time!

Here's the written dialogue and the details that goes with the photos! About eleven or so years ago when I was first starting my business I hung out on an online photography forum learning so many of the nuances of the business. That's where I "met" Tanja. We were "supposed" to be competitors. I mean, we were both photographers in the Denver area market. However, Tanja is one of the kindest, most giving woman ever (in fact, she has a day named after her in the city of Denver because of the community service projects she has spearheaded). AND, she has always felt that helping others is so much better than fighting with them.

Fast forward a couple of years and we both were asked to be on the Board of Directors for Professional Photographers of Colorado at the same time. We started hanging out more together, teaching together, road tripping to photography conferences together,  photographing our senior model programs together, and referring clients to each other. Then, this summer this happened.

By the end of the summer after photographing for some clients together , we started talking about the future.  I knew it was time to shut down my studio as I knew it. But as Tanja so wonderfully put it,  "Michelle was losing a part of her soul - that part of every photographers' soul that shrivels when we are kept away from a camera for too long.  She is as passionate about creating art as I am and I'll be damned if I was going to sit back and watch my friend's soul shrivel and her talent waste away." She came up with a plan.... a plan for the future.

So, here's the future and our "Big Announcement"! I will be joining Contemporary Expressions Photography under the name CE-Seniors by Michelle Kroll! Tanja will continue to photograph the seniors that she does so well in Denver and I will serve as the Parker Branch of the business. And again, in Tanja's eloquent words, "By bringing Michelle into the business, we can offer our Seniors the very best of both worlds - while I will focus on the Urban Editorial styling that I'm most known for, Michelle can give clients the Country Chic (and classically gorgeous) images that have made her one of the top Parker senior photographers for the past 9 years.  OR, our clients can do BOTH.  We can now also serve clients "closer to home" since we will have a LoDo and a Parker branch.  Can you see why we are so excited??!!??"

And we are excited! So, moving forward, I will be slowly phasing out my blog, my website and my social media accounts and be helping Contemporary Expressions with theirs.  You can find the CE website here, the blog here, and the Facebook page here.

So what are you waiting for? Click those links now! Check out my talented friend. Like the Facebook page. And, be watching for some creative sessions that we have already finished shooting together! As they always say, two minds are better than one....and when they are creative minds.........it's FIREWORKS!
